The Head Of The Balkh Money Exchangers' Union Was Abducted
Security officials in Balkh province say the head of the province's money exchangers' union has been abducted by unknown individuals.
Adel Shah Adel, spokesman for the Balkh police, said that the incident took place at around 4:40 this morning (Tuesday, May 1) in the Siagard area of the third district of Mazar-e-Sharif.
Balkh police spokesman added; Abdul Qayyum, head of the province's money exchangers' union, was abducted on his way home from a mosque.
He says Balkh police have already covered all "suspicious" areas and a technical team from the Crime Management Department has begun an investigation.
Mr Adel said security cameras were being checked by police.
Meanwhile, a number of residents of Mazar-e-Sharif have demonstrated in connection with the event.
