A Collection Of Grossi's Talks About The JCPOA And Other Issues

Date: Mar 04, 2023, 17:39

The second round of negotiations, which can be said to be the final round of talks between the Director General of the Atomic Energy Agency, Mr. Grossi; and is the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

According to Isna, an Iranian media, these negotiations started a few moments ago at the site of the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, on Friday, hours after arriving in Tehran, discussed and met with Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

Yesterday, Friday, the conversation between the delegations of Iran and the Agency were conducted under the supervision of Mr. Grossi and Mr. Eslami, and the continuation of these consultations was scheduled for this Saturday morning.

Also, on Friday night, Mr. Grossi met and talked with related people and experts of Iran's nuclear industry at the dinner of the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

Discussions about the remaining protection issues as well as some cases of technical and legal disagreements between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency are on the agenda.

The technical and expert delegations of this agency, headed by Mr. Grossi's deputy protection officer, Massimo Apparo, have been in Tehran in the last week or two and conducted expert discussions on the above topics.

It is said that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency have come close to a general agreement, and the two sides of negotiations on the remaining protection issues have come close to general agreements and solving one or two issues.

Raphael Grossi's words included the following:

• The International Atomic Energy Agency has never been a political tool.

• I guarantee that this agency does not work under the instructions of any country and we act transparently. We do not take orders from anyone and such talk is ridiculous.

• We must eliminate doubts about the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program.

• We have received the CPF or "Country Program Framework" from Iran, which specifies what is to be done with the international agency in the scientific fields.

• I am sure that this visit that I have now in Tehran will be memorable.

In the midst of these talks, Mr. Grossi also stated that "our agreement today will also help the JCPOA".

Meanwhile, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Commission said: The JCPOA file is almost closed in the new government. This trip of Rafael Grossi will not benefit us. We should not have let him into Iran at all. In my opinion, with the departure of Mr. Rouhani's government and the formation of a new government, the JCPOA file is almost practically closed.

Whenever Mr. Grossi came to Iran and received a report, he later pulled out a point from this report and information, and used this as the basis for the next questions and doubts and finally the next pressures on Iran. I believe that Westerners should not be given any privilege and the country should be managed based on the endogenous capacities and opportunities.
