The Taliban source says the dollar has not only risen against Afghani it risen against most of currencies.

Concerned about the rising value of the dollar against the Afghani, some citizens say commodity prices have risen following the devaluation of the Afghani.

According to the Taliban spokesman, "We are trying to protect the National Bank rate and in any effective way we will take steps to maintain the Afghan krona rate."

“Day-by-day the dollar is rising and the Afghan currency is losing its value in the market. As the value of the dollar rises against the Afghan currency, so does the price of basic food items,” said Abdul Wahed, a Nangarhar resident.

Meanwhile, the Kabul sarai shahzada Money Changers' Union says that a few weeks ago the Central Bank spent $ 2.5 million on the sarai shahzada market, but this did not stop the Afghani from depreciating against foreign currencies.
