Central Bank So Far Received 20 Cash Aid Packages From The United Nations
Saber Momand Central Banks spokesman confirmed that the aid had played a significant role in boosting the value of the Afghani against foreign currencies.
Officials at the Central Bank of Afghanistan say that so far twenty cash aid packages worth about $ 570 million have arrived in Afghanistan from the United Nations and have been transferred to the International Bank of Afghanistan.
"This humanitarian aid has a positive effect on keeping the Afghan value stable," Mr Momand said.
According to some economists, the purpose of transferring cash to Afghanistan is to circulate dollars in the markets and prevent a liquidity crisis.
"In the current situation, it will be very effective if the money raised is invested in agriculture and the economy," said Ahmad Munib Rasa, a political analyst.
