India-Pakistan Agreement On The Transfer Of Humanitarian Aid To Afghanistan

Pakistan and India confirmed to the media that Islamabad agreed on Friday (April 12, 1400) to transfer 50,000 tonnes of wheat and Indian aid medicine to Afghanistan by Afghan trucks.

About two months ago, India offered to send 50,000 tonnes of wheat, medicine and other aid to Afghanistan. Pakistan said on November 24 that sending humanitarian aid and showing sympathy would exceptionally allow it to be transported to Afghanistan through the port of Wagah.But Islamabad had made it a condition that the aid be transported to Afghanistan in Pakistani trucks.

Pakistani and Indian officials provided information on Thursday, but according to Indian media reports, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry informed Indian diplomats in Islamabad on Friday that Pakistan was ready to provide aid with Afghan trucks from the port of Wagah to Afghanistan.

"Afghanistan needs more humanitarian aid, food and other basic necessities than ever before. The Afghan government is grateful for the Indian government 's sympathy and humanitarian assistance. We also thank Pakistan for allowing India to "Thank you very much for the aid being transferred by Afghan trucks through that country."

EU Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas Nicholson also welcomed India's humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan. According to Indian media reports, Nicholson, who has traveled to New Delhi, says India and the EU's assessment to Afghanistan is very close.
