Officials Say Exports Through The Port Of Hairatan Have Increased
Balkh customs officials announce an increase in exports through the commercial port of Hairatan.
According to them, in the month of Scorpio in the current solar year alone, hundreds of high-tonnage trucks carrying gooseberries, raisins, almonds and potatoes have been exported out of Afghanistan.
Officials continue to say; Working hours at Balkh Customs have been increased from 8 to 13 hours, and up to 600 vehicles carrying imported goods are processed daily.
Meanwhile, officials of the Balkh Chamber of Industries and Mines announced the start of operation of production plants that had been shut down in the province.
Sayed Ismail Hosseini, a member of the board of directors of the Balkh Chamber of Industries and Mines, said: "It is growing and we are optimistic about the future."
Imports and exports in Hairatan are made through three ships, railways and high tonnage vehicles. A variety of commercial goods, including fuel and construction materials, enter northern Afghanistan from Central Asian countries.
