Increasing Oil And Food Exports To Afghanistan

Russia's ambassador to Afghanistan, Dmitry Zhirnov, in an interview on Friday, 10th of February with Russia 24 TV said that his country plans to increase the export of oil and food to Afghanistan." He also stated: "Actually, these contracts have a commercial form and we receive money in return. We are currently increasing the supply of fuel and food to Afghanistan."

He added that during this year, the volume of trade between Russia and Afghanistan has increased by 40%.

Not long ago, Zamir Kabulov, Russia's representative in Afghanistan affairs, said that Russia and the Islamic Emirate have an agreement in principle to cooperate on essential goods such as wheat and petroleum products.

Meanwhile, Nuruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate, went to Russia in late 2022, where he signed the contract to import oil and wheat from Russia to Afghanistan.

According to Sputnik Dari, based on the contract between the two countries, Russia is going to export two million tons of wheat to the country every year.

Russia is among the countries that are interested in economic relations with the Islamic Emirate.
