Food Prices Have Risen As The Afghani Droops
Some shopkeepers say food prices have risen as the dollar has risen against the Afghani.
Citizens say the government should monitor food prices in markets.
Meanwhile, some shopkeepers in the capital say that the rise in the dollar is one of the main reasons for the rise in food prices.
At present, a barrel of flour costs up to 2,400 afghanis, 16 liters of oil up to 2,800 afghanis, a barrel of rice 2,700 afghanis and 7 kg onion up to 450 afghanis are sold in the country's markets.
Meanwhile, a number of residents of the capital say that on the one hand, the lack of work in the market and on the other hand, the high price of food has faced them with many challenges.
Food prices have risen in the country's markets, with more than half the country's population now living in poverty and hunger, according to the latest UN figures.
