The central city of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan is hosting an economic meeting of Islamic countries and Russia today, in which a government delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is also participating.

Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesperson of this ministry, wrote in a tweet that this delegation holds separate meetings with the president and its special representative about economic issues. According to Russian media reports, the economic meeting of "Russia and the Islamic World" will begin on Thursday in the south of this country.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, told Azadi Radio that the delegation of the Islamic Emirate will have a separate meeting with Tatarstan officials on the sidelines of the conference.

"A delegation led by the Honorable Minister of Commerce, which is an educational and economic delegation, is on a two-day trip to Tatarstan at the official invitation of the Russian Federation, where it will take part in the economic forum of Islamic countries. In this forum, the economic opportunities created in Afghanistan and the region and bilateral relations will be discussed and exchanged."

This meeting started for the first time in 2009 at the initiative of Russia and has been held several times to strengthen economic relations between Russia and the Islamic world. The purpose of holding this year's meeting is the effort of this country to expand all-around relations with Islamic countries due to the deterioration of its relations with the West.
