Silo Kabul Central Company Started Operating In Three Sections After 30 Years

Officials at Silo Kabul Central company says the state-owned company has resumed operations in storage of wheat, flour and baking dry bread, fasting, root and cakes.

Nasrullah Mansour, head of Silo Kabul Central company, said there were currently 133 people working in the central silo, six of whom were women.

Silo Kabul Central currently produces between 500 and 1,000 loaves of bread a day, but Mr. Mansour promises to increase that number: "The number of loaves of bread is increasing day by day and we hope to have a good income on a daily and annual basis.

Nasrullah Mansour adds that they are trying to sign a contract to sell their products, which will have a positive effect on their income.

Two weeks ago, Khayal Mohammad, the former head of Kabul Central Silo, said that by activating this silo, they could raise about 35 million afghanis a year and add 8 million afghanis to the net profit of the government budget.

The central silo was first established in 1335 to store and grind wheat and bake bread on 96 acres of land and started operating.
