Da Afghanistan Bank Destroyed 1.7 Billion Worn Out Afghani Banknotes

Da Afghanistan Bank says more than 1.7 billion Worn and old afghani banknotes has been collected and destroyed in this year.

Hasib Noori, the bank's spokesman, said in a speech yesterday: "The collection and disposal of worn-out banknotes continues."

Mr. Noori also said that people should pay more attention to the maintenance of Afghan banknotes.

Meanwhile, the rise of worn-out banknotes in Kabul has drawn criticism from the public.

Some Kabul residents say banknotes, especially ten afghanis, 20 afghanis and 50 afghanis, have recently become very worn out and their use in transactions has become problematic.
