Rising Prices Of Foodstuffs, Especially Raw Materials
According to some food retailers, the price of most food items has doubled this year compared to last year.
Kabul residents say that the prices of some food and fuel items have increased by almost 100 percent compared to last year.
According to them, the prices of raw materials, especially flour, oil and fuel, have doubled compared to last year.
"Prices have gone up a lot, a barrel of flour last year was 1,300 afghanis, but now it has risen to 2,300 afghanis," said Omid, a Kabul resident. "Oil was 1,200 afghanis, but now it has reached 2,200 afghanis."
On the other hand, the capital's wood sellers say that the wood market is colder this year than last year.
