Almost Two Billion Dollars' Worth Of Commercial Items Have Been Traded Between Afghanistan And Iran This Year
In the current year, Iran and Afghanistan have conducted nearly two billion dollars in commercial transactions over the span of 11 months. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce states that during this period, transactions with Iran amounted to $1.801 billion. Officials from this ministry report that out of this total, only around $30 million constitutes exports, with the remainder being imports from Iran.
They mention that the primary export items include cotton, raisins, almonds, sesame seeds, and watermelon seeds. These statistics indicate that Iran has been the largest trading partner of Afghanistan in the current year.
Additionally, Nuruddin Azizi, the acting head of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, discussed the expansion of trade relations between the two countries during a meeting with the Deputy Coordinator for Economic Affairs of Khorasan Razavi Province, Iran.
