Apple advises against placing their wet or submerged mobile phones in a bag of rice for drying. Experts have long warned that this popular method is ineffective, and now Apple is also telling its users that it may damage their phones by introducing fine particles. Instead, the company suggests people gently remove any liquid by placing the phone vertically and letting it dry naturally. Apple recommends avoiding rice bags altogether and not using external heat sources or compressed air like radiators or hairdryers to dry a wet phone. Additionally, using paper towels or cotton swabs is not a suitable method. Instead, people are advised to let their phones dry in a dry place with free airflow before reconnecting them to a charger.
